I stole this from Dustbunnythumper 2016 Summary of Art
2016 was a crazy year for me, I don't think I have produced so much art (333 days and a couple stragglers here and there) and it really helped me grow and push myself out of my own confines. It also caused the birth of Blackburn, the perfect bite-size fun little project I've been dying to do for so long. Being forced to draw nearly every day kept the story evolving in my head and as I prepare for the new year Blackburn is the biggest thing on my mind.
Drawing every day taught me that there's no reason to not pursue your dreams, just excuses. The only one stopping you is you and if you can't find the time you simply don't want it enough and there's someone out there that wants it more. That lesson naturally extended into my life and I made some really big changes consequently.
A lot of people are toting this whole 2016 was a terrible year, that it's the worst ever and they can't wait for a better, new year to begin. But things don't get better with a new calendar, things get better the moment you decide to make it so. For me, I loved 2016, sure there were tragedies and huge world events and terrible things happening everywhere. But these things have always happened, the beauty of life is thriving despite adverse conditions, finding joy when there doesn't seem to be any.
Tomorrow is a Sunday, another day and nothing magical will happen but trying to remember to put a 7 at the end when you write the date. You want things to be better, start now.
